The Wagon Over The Valley

A completely original Wagon full of unique touches, at the top of a wild hilly meadow with breath taking mountain views.
Daphne acquired the Wagon after an auspicious chance encounter with a kindred spirit called Dale, who wanted to swap his current life on the roads for a life of wandering the hills with just his horse and tent. It was Dale who fitted out the wagon with gypsy caravan inspired furnishings: a bed with a canopy made of white linen and lace and satin ribbons, antique mirrors, a cosy wood burner and two Edwardian desks, which combined with the absolutely magnificent view towards the Black Mountains are enough to give anyone the urge to write. Daphne herself added the lean-to kitchen and finishing touches like the pretty solar fairy lights out on the decking, where you’ll find wooden armchairs and other handcrafted outdoor furniture to sit and look out over the valley.

Daphne’s individual spirit infuses the whole of the New Inn Brilley – you can’t miss the Stupa draped in prayer flags near the shared shower hut, and there’s an old barn turned meditation space, where you can arrange to have guided meditation sessions. During the day you can head to the markets in Hay on Wye, and whether you choose to explore by bike, horse, canoe or simply by foot, the surrounding scenery is just stunning.
I have to  mention a very recent addition is an outdoor bath tub, on the decking for you to enjoy a hot soak under the stars, its called   'floating to heaven....'

At all times, Dogs must not be left alone on premises 

There is a fresh spring about 15 yards below the Wagon, with some cracks in the
​ground where water has made its way down so do be careful, 

Essentials: The important stuff

• Check in time is flexible depending on previous guests, but 4pm is a good guide
• Check out time 10 am, but also flexible depending on guest arrival
• Now There is a power point in the lean to kitchen to charge your phones
• And a little fridge
• Please bring wellies and a torch
• Don't forget the charcoal for the BBQ
• Please bring  logs for the woodburner, needs to be real small in size, best those sawdust compressed logs that come in small sizes
  
• The bed is small  - the exact dimensions are: 126cm x 177cm (4'2" x 5'9"). 
• SURPRISE......   is now there is a bathtub to enjoy a hot soak under the stars.....  it called  'floating to heaven.....'

We prefer that you bring your own logs please.
Each bag of wood supplied for the wood burners £15 each . Please be prepared with cash.

I have added some photos that I have taken today, 5th May 2021,  the reason being, last week I had a guest, that said some awful   things about the Wagon, and that it did not correspond to the photos   etc.....  a very unhappy person....  unfortunately it takes all sorts to make this world, so I have uplodaded some new photos, of course in about 9 years when this Wagon perched here, the vegetation has grown a lot,  many trees have made it their home.... but the main structures are the same the deckings , the interior, the kitchen  same, with improvements of running water power point, hot water etc....      however it remains one of my preferred ones......
